Complexity: When Narcissistic, Borderline, and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorders Co-Occur with Sex Addiction and Betrayal Trauma
A Talk by Dr. Jake Porter LPC, NCC, CSAT-S, CMAT, CCPS (Founder & President, Daring Ventures Counseling, Coaching, & Consultation)
About this Talk
Many social media posts and pop psychology articles claim to offer insights into narcissistic and borderline personality disorders. These are typically filled with drama and fear, offering little true clinical insight and even less reason for hope.
Meanwhile, other personality disorders, like obsessive-compulsive personality disorder get very little attention and go unnoticed by those affected.
This reality is especially significant to those who find themselves on the journey of recovery from sex addiction and betrayal trauma. When the recovery path seems especially bumpy and irregular, we must explore the possibility of a co-occurring disorder, and these personality disorders are among those potentially unrecognized factors adding complexity to the recovery process.
In this talk, Dr. Jake will share evidence-based, clinically sound information on narcissistic, borderline, and obsessive-compulsive personality disorders, especially as they apply to individuals and couples attempting to heal from the effects of addiction and trauma.
